Below are some tips on how to mount a semi flush light fixtures. Remember though that getting a professional is always the better option if you can afford it. Several dollars is nothing compared to your safety.

Step 1: Use a ladder so that you can reach the semi flush light fixtures without difficulty. Turn off the old fixture. Make sure that it is not hot when you touch it. Switch it off and loosen the screw. Remove everything that needs to be removed. Always be careful. You don't want all these things to fall on you.

Step 2: Find the screws that clasp the light fixture to the ceiling. Take them away them and allow the fixture to hang by the wiring. You will find a black wire from the fixture that is connected to the wire coming from the ceiling.

Step 3: Make sure there is no more electrical tape covering the wire connections. Unscrew the wire nuts then disconnect the fixtures from the wires that you earlier saw from the ceiling. Leave the old fixture for a bit.

Step 4: Strip the wires of the new semi-flush light fixture to expose at least 1/2 inch of bare wire. Hold the black wire from the fixture with the black wire from the ceiling and insert the stripped ends into a wire nut. Twist the nut until it is tight and wrap the connection with electrical tape.

Step 5: Repeat Step 4 for all the other wires.
